OUGD505 - Module Briefing

OUGD505 - Module Briefing

Briefing

This module encourages individuals to advance their own specialist areas of practice via the application of relevant technologies and processes. Through investigation, analysis, ideation and strategic thinking, students will independently evaluate the effectiveness and appropriateness of visual communication techniques to culminate in work that - while still aesthetically engaging - is sophisticated in its utilization of research, experimentation and understanding.

During the module briefing for OUGD505 it was evident this module is structured differently to the other modules undertaken in level 5 thus far. It only has two briefs therefore these resolutions will require substantial resolution that are informed by copious research and development. The module is split into these two briefs, a smaller exhibition brief and a intensive research project. Dissimilarly from the other modules both briefs were brief at the same time during the module briefing therefore time management is key within this module planning my own time effectively to ensure I dedicate appropriate time to each brief in order to develop highly refined resolutions.

Distribution is a key factor to consider within this brief, not just making graphic design but considering how this will reach its audience and what forms this will take, this is a new ideology to consider within my practice that I am looking forward to exploring and developing as part of my practice. I am looking forward to the challenged this module offers and seeming transitioning to working more independently choosing what briefs to work on at which stage, which is how I image level 6 will be structured, there this modules structure works well as transition to the this higher academic level of study.
